Reaching Out from a Mind as Dirty as All Outdoors

If you get lucky enough, I might post adult-only material from time to time, so be 18 or over, or please be elsewhere.

I'll be discussing erotica here, the writing of it and the people who write it, as well as what we've written. I find all these aspects stimulating, but if any of them bore you, feel free to skim. You never know what you might miss, though.

R.G. Emanuelle's Sexy Smorgasbord for the BLE Blog Tour

A Smorgasbord of Great Stories in BLE 2016
R.G. Emanuelle

My very first story to appear in a Best Lesbian Erotica was “From the Halls of Montezuma” in 2010.

I had just gotten back into fiction writing and was both stunned and thrilled that my story had been accepted. The editor at the time was Kathleen Warnock and the guest editors (reading and choosing the stories) were two members of the alternative rock group BETTY. It was all crazy exciting.

Since then, I’ve had stories appear in numerous anthologies (and I’ve produced a couple of anthologies of my own), but there’s something very special about that particular acceptance, partly because BLE is a highly respected anthology in that genre.

Fast forward six years. I get an email from Sacchi Green, telling me that my short story, “Smorgasbord,” has been accepted to appear in the 2016 edition. Woohoo! (See what I did there in the title of this blog? Clever, huh?)

The 2016 edition also happens to be the 20th anniversary edition. Being accepted in any anthology is awesome. Being accepted in BLE is particularly awesome. But being in the 20th anniversary edition is exceptionally awesome.

So let me just give you a brief summary of what my contribution to this fabulous anthology is about.
“Smorgasbord” originally appeared in All You Can Eat: A Buffet of Lesbian Romance & Erotica, which was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award in 2015. It features an artist, Renee, who works with food as a medium and has been commissioned to do a project for a high-end culinary arts magazine. She’s having a hard time coming up with an idea, so she takes a break by going to an art gallery show. There she meets a woman, Delilah, who turns out to be a food writer. Having this interest in common, Renee invites Delilah up to her place to look at some of her art. The sparks fly high and bright between them and they decide to have a dinner date. It’s during this date that Renee comes up with an idea for her project, and she asks Delilah to be a part of it. The project becomes an evening of sensuous, provocative creation that awakens all their senses—sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch. All of these become engaged for the sake of art, as well as passion. And Renee and Delilah get a sumptuous feast out of the deal.

There are so many great, passionate, sensual stories in BLE—a veritable smorgasbord of sexy stories! And Sacchi Green does a fabulous job in keeping the torch of quality lesbian erotica lit. I truly hope you all enjoy this collection.
